History
In 1908, on the Sant Pere Més Baix street de Barcelona, a group of friends interested in dance in general and specifically for these of our country, Catalonia, they wrote and signed the Statutes of a new entity called Esbart Català de Dansaires. 1915 - 1929
The big push
The year 1915 brings changes to the Board to replace Antoni Casals, President since 1909, by Joan B. Bru Soler who had been President of the first two years of life and in the organization end of the year presented his resignation saying that in his opinion the Board lacks cohesion. However, with Aureli Capmany as Artistic Director and Musical Director at Cèsar Canals, 1915 records a set of activities similar to 1914.
The Board of Directors of January 16, those present decided to organize the festival partner to celebrate the annual anniversary of the company at the end of this month. Therefore, the 30th evening held on the premises of the headquarters located at the Atenu Obrer del Districte, Bisbe Caçador Street. For the next day, as well as activities of the Festival Partner of that year, a hearing was scheduled Sardanes.
